Out to dinner with Gran

We had a nice time in Boston after taking my mom to Brigham and Women's hospital for her CT scan. She's scheduled for a right total shoulder replacement on 2/7/08. We were able to get her in to see the Great Man who actually was a design surgeon on the team that created the device. My brother out in Indiana works for Zimmer, the company that makes the shoulder replacement parts, and he is very upbeat about her surgery, but Mom is nervous and I am nervous for her -- she's 81 and has never had any surgery before. (At least, not this big.) Please be in prayer for my mom.

It's too bad you couldn't pull off a great practical joke on your Mom where she gets all prepped for surgery and Tom comes in in a hospital-blue gown and says, "Hello Mother-in-law. I'll be your surgeon today!"

Ah, it would be funny!

Hey, we'll be praying for your Mom. She's quite a special lady!!!
